Eric Park … District Superintendent

Eric Park is currently the District Superintendent of the Washington District in the Western Pennsylvania Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.  As the son of a United Methodist pastor, he spent his childhood and youth in three different communities in western Pennsylvania:  Washington, PA, Grove City, PA, and Indiana, PA.  Eric graduated from Dickinson College in 1988 (with Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature); Duke University Divinity School in 1991 (with a Master of Divinity degree); and Drew Theological School in 2001 (with a Doctor of Ministry degree).  He has served the following churches as a pastor:  Parker’s Grove United Methodist Church in Linden, North Carolina; First United Methodist Church in McDonald, PA; Christ United Methodist Church in Bethel Park, PA; and Central Highlands Community United Methodist Church in Elizabeth Township, PA.  He considers the best day of his life to have been January 18, 1992—the day that he was married to Tara Lynn Rivetti Park, who remains his partner in ministry and the love of his life.

Jan Owen – Washington District Secretary

Jan has been the Administrative Secretary for the Washington District for nine years.  She is a member of Grace UMC in Coal Center and has been active in ministry.  She is a member of the Washington District Leadership Team which implements the social engagements and training help shops held on the district. 

She is a graduate of Oral Roberts University and California University of Pennsylvania.  Jan is an adjunct faulty member at California University of Pennsylvania in the Communication Studies Department.   She is often found teaching Oral Communication, which she sees as a funny joke from God.  She must teach students how to speak and present in front of an audience, something of which Jan cringes from doing. 

 Jan is a single mom of 15 year old, Tori, a sophomore in high school.  Tori is devoted to the music program at Charleroi High School playing french horn, mellophone, trumpet and singing alto in the chorus.  She has attend various county and district musical events as a representative of Charleroi. Tori is also involved with committees within the school and church as well as the youth group and loves attending Creation each summer. 

Jan moved back to the Pittsburgh Area in 1992 from the Los Angeles area where she lived for three years working in the movie industry.  She lives with her mother helping to maintain the family home since her father suddenly passed away in October 2005.
